Throughout my life, I have always had a strong internal locus of responsibility - I have always wanted to be in control and have always been quick to take responsibility for forces that I cannot help. I even apologize for the weather.
I have sought to control my environments - understand them, break them down, organize them - so as to create a false sense of security that does not and cannot exist. This desire for control becomes particularly evident in the manifestations of my artwork and the visual vocabulary with which I communicate: sequences, grids, modules, and symmetry.
What I failed to realize previously, and that I am only just beginning to understand, is that my(self) and my actions are a part of larger, ongoing systems and forces both human and nonhuman.
With my work, I explore my identity and my external material environments, as they continually shift and change and affect one another in an unending feedback loop.
I enjoy using my skills to execute both personal and client-based projects.
